Workshop

Classical and Quantum Ergodicity

28 May - 1 June, 2000

Blaubeuren, Germany

Organizers: Arnd Bäcker, Roman Schubert, Frank Steiner

Topics

The aim of the workshop is to bring together specialists from various fields in physics and mathematics working on the relation between the properties of eigenfunctions of quantum systems and the behaviour of the corresponding classical systems. Topics to be covered include: rate of quantum ergodicity and decay of classical correlations, scars vs. unique quantum ergodicity, reliable quantitative tests for scarring, distribution of matrix elements in connection with decay of classical correlation functions, inverse quantum ergodicity, semiclassical eigenfunction hypothesis, quantum limits, systems with mixed phase space, quasi-mode constructions, semiclassical theory, trace formulae, arithmetic quantum chaos, random matrix theory.
