Husimi function of the quantum baker map Husimi function of a localized eigenstate of the quantum baker map (matrix size N=200).

Quantized maps, like quantum billiards, are important model systems for investigating quantum chaos, see, e.g., ULM-TP/ 99-3, 00-7 and 01-5.

Other topics in quantum chaos currently covered by the group are properties of eigenfunctions (rate of quantum ergodicity, localization, bouncing ball modes, see ULM-TP/ 97-4, 97-6, 97-8 and 98-1) and quantum chaos with spin (trace formulae (ULM-TP/ 98-3, 98-6, 00-5), spectral statistics (ULM-TP/ 99-6, 00-4), quantum ergodicity (ULM-TP/ 00-1, 01-1)).

For a recent review on quantum chaos see ULM-TP/ 99-5.

Tetrahedron Eigenmode Highly excited eigenmode of the tetrahedron T8 with Neumann boundary conditions (ULM-TP/ 00-2, rendered with Amira).

Eigenmodes of tetraheda play an important role in the computation of the cosmic microwave background radiation for a compact hyperbolic model of the universe, see ULM-TP/ 99-1, and 00-3.

They have also been studied in the context of quantum chaos (DESY report 95-009 and ULM-TP/ 00-6).
